Creating OE Depot for Installation
From jasonhoss.com
Typically HP is delivering new OE releases (Released in March and September every year) via digital downloads. If requested specifically, they will ship media, however for this process we will need them in .iso format regardless. Therefore, the first step is to either download the .iso from HP (support contract is required) or create an .iso from the physical media.
- Copy the media to the server you intend to use for ignite based installs via FTP/SCP or another method.
- Mount the .iso has a file system (Requires 11.31 to be running). Steps for that are found here (Mount ISO in 11.31) Now the .iso is mounted at, for example, /mnt/dvd
- After ensuring that there is enough space on the destination file system for the depot, copy the contents of the DVD to the appropriate location.
# swcopy -s /mnt/dvd \* @ /var/opt/ignite/depots/Rel_B.11.31/DCOE_0911
- (Optional) The swcopy command should register the depot with SD-UX, however, sometimes it fails. If the depot needs to be manually registered, it can be accomplished by doing
# swreg -l depot /var/opt/ignite/depots/Rel_B.11.31/DCOE_0911
To check that is was successfully registered
# swlist -l depot
Now we have the OE copied into and SD depot location and registered with SD-UX. Now it has to be configured for use with Ignite-UX so that systems can be installed or updated (via update-ux) from that location.
- Build Ignite-UX configuration files for the SD Depot
# make_config -r B.11.31 -s PROD_DCOE_0911 [-p]
